Gunster Attorney Olivia Minnis

Overview

Olivia LaSalle Minnis is an attorney in Gunster’s Immigration practice group who has been practicing U.S. immigration and nationality law since 2016. Olivia focuses her practice on employment, business, investment, and talent-based immigration matters. She has represented multinational organizations, entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals in navigating a diverse range of nonimmigrant and immigrant matters. Olivia’s expertise encompasses a wide range of immigration processes, including L-1A/L-1B visas for multinational executives, managers, and specialized knowledge professionals, the Blanket L Petition program, O-1A and O-1B visas for individuals of extraordinary ability, H-1B visas for specialty occupation professionals, E-2/E-1 treaty visas, and EB-1A, EB-1C, and National Interest Waiver pathways to permanent residence. Olivia’s expertise also extends to specialized areas within immigration law, including the EB-5 Investor Program and the Labor Certification Process. She regularly develops complex EB-1A and EB-2 National Interest Waiver strategies for founders, researchers, creative professionals, and industry innovators whose work requires deep understanding of niche specialties and evolving U.S. national-interest priorities. Olivia’s practice includes translating technical, scientific, and creative achievements into immigration frameworks that map to the evidentiary standards for extraordinary-ability classifications.

Her expertise further extends to a full suite of employment-based nonimmigrant processes, including L-1A/L-1B visas for multinational executives, managers, and specialized knowledge professionals; the Blanket L Program; O-1 visas for individuals with sustained acclaim in diverse fields; H-1B visas for specialty-occupation professionals; and E-2/E-1 treaty investor and employee visas.

Olivia also specializes in the EB-5 Investor Program, where her experience centers on preparing well-documented source-of-funds analyses and structuring cases to withstand heightened regulatory scrutiny, even in complex or multi-layered financial scenarios. Leveraging Gunster’s multidisciplinary platform—which includes corporate, tax, trusts and estates, real estate, securities, and private-wealth planning attorneys—she collaborates across practice groups to ensure that EB-5 investors receive sophisticated and coordinated guidance. This integrated approach allows her to prepare EB-5 filings that are aligned with each client’s immigration and broader financial and tax planning objectives.

Olivia is committed to providing exceptional legal guidance and building strong, trusted partnerships with her clients. Passionate about helping clients achieve their goals, she offers thoughtful and comprehensive immigration strategies tailored to their specific needs. Olivia takes a proactive approach to navigating the complexities of the immigration process, ensuring that both immediate concerns and future aspirations are addressed with effective, customized legal solutions.

Prior to joining Gunster, Olivia managed a broad range of investment, employment and family-based immigration matters at an international global mobility firm. Olivia has also successfully represented individuals in removal proceedings before the U.S. Immigration Courts, as well as those applying for adjustment of status and citizenship before USCIS. While in law school, Olivia interned for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, where she first-chaired various cases in removal proceedings. She also worked for the U.S. Department of State in the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain, where she assisted in processing visa applications and gained valuable insight into the consular process that has enhanced her ability to advise clients effectively.
