Overview
Greg Pierson represents businesses of all sizes and individuals in complex business and employment disputes at every stage of litigation in federal and state courts.
Clients across a range of industries rely on Greg for guidance and representation in business-tort cases, contract disputes, noncompetition disputes, employment-discrimination cases, and various high-exposure matters. Working closely with clients, he develops litigation strategies focused on meeting his clients’ immediate goals and on supporting their long-term business visions. He guides them through all phases of litigation, from pre-suit analysis and dispositive motion practice to discovery, trial and, when necessary, appeal.
Known for his hands-on approach, diligence, attention to detail, and strong advocacy, Greg is particularly skilled at translating complex legal concepts and fact patterns into clear, persuasive arguments and resolving disputes efficiently and favorably in and out of court.
Before joining Gunster, Greg served as a law clerk to Honorable Charlene E. Honeywell of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and to the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich, former chief judge of the same court. During his clerkships, he assisted with jury and bench trials, case management, bankruptcy appeals, and the resolution of dispositive and nondispositive motions. These experiences provided him with firsthand insight into judicial decision-making and how courts evaluate evidence and arguments in complex business and employment disputes. That perspective informs his approach to case assessment, motion practice, case presentation, and trial strategy.
In addition to his law practice, Greg maintains an active role in the legal community. He serves on the Florida Bar’s Thirteenth Circuit Grievance Committee, where he participates in reviewing and evaluating attorney conduct and professional responsibility matters, and serves on the Board of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
