Gunster shareholder Mike Freed recently appeared on Jacksonville's WJXT Morning Show to discuss the upcoming 10th anniversary of Freed to Run, a 12-hour fundraising event dedicated to helping Northeast Florida seniors access critical legal services that allow them to remain safely in their homes.
During the interview, Mike shared the inspiration behind Freed to Run and its mission to support Jacksonville Area Legal Aid's Shelter for Elders program, which provides legal assistance to older adults facing challenges such as housing instability, financial exploitation, and other issues that can threaten their independence.
Over the past decade, Freed to Run has raised more than $3.2 million to help fund these services, creating a lasting impact for seniors throughout the community.
The 10th annual event will take place on Saturday, October 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center. Participants can choose their own distance and pace while supporting a cause that helps vulnerable seniors secure the legal representation they need to age safely and with dignity.
Registration remains open through Friday, October 2.
