The 2026 Annual AWMA Joint Florida/Alabama Technical Conference, hosted by the Alabama and Coastal Plains Chapters of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA), will take place Wednesday, September 23. This highly anticipated conference marks the return of a premier regional event focused on environmental, air quality, and waste management topics, bringing together experts, regulators, consultants, and industry leaders to discuss emerging challenges and innovative solutions.
Gunster attorney Greg Munson will be speaking at the conference, sharing his insights on key environmental and regulatory issues impacting businesses and stakeholders across the region. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable perspectives from Greg and other industry leaders while networking with professionals from throughout Florida and Alabama.
Greg Munson is a shareholder with the firm and represents regulated industries in the industrial, agricultural, mining, and utility sectors in all areas of state and federal environmental law. He represents clients before Florida’s executive branch agencies, the state’s water management districts, the Division of Administrative Hearings, the Florida governor and cabinet, EPA, and the Florida Legislature.
He twice held senior positions at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Beginning in 2011, Greg was the deputy secretary for water policy and ecosystem restoration. In this capacity, he supervised the department’s activities related to Everglades restoration and the state’s water management districts. From 2004 to 2006, Greg was general counsel at DEP, and oversaw all legal matters in the department.
