Service has always been the cornerstone of Gunster. The firm’s own namesake, Joseph Gunster, was a dedicated advocate for the American Red Cross, setting the precedent for leadership and service that defines us today.
To mark our centennial, we committed to 1,925 hours of community service across our 13 offices statewide—the number reflecting the year the firm was founded. Attorneys and staff at each office were invited to volunteer with local organizations, contributing to their pockets of the state. To name a few, our Jacksonville office participated in Jacksonville Day of Service with the St. Johns Riverkeeper, the Miami office walked the Autism Speaks Walk, the Stuart team was chefs for a day at Molly’s House, and our West Palm Beach office attended the Education Foundation’s annual Backpack Build. Additionally, we had a year-long partnership with Special Olympics, where we hosted events across the state to support Special Olympics Florida.
Speaking on the service initiative, CEO & Managing Shareholder of Gunster Bill Perry said, “Together, we can ensure that our centennial year is remembered not only for celebrating our past but also for shaping a more inclusive future for every member of our Florida community.”
As we close our centennial year, we do so with deep gratitude—for the communities that welcomed us, the partners who stood beside us, and the generations of colleagues who made service a defining part of our profession. The 1,925 hours we pledged were not a capstone, but a recommitment. Community engagement will continue to be woven into our legal work, guiding how we show up for Florida and those who call it home.
We invite you to revisit the moments that made this year so meaningful and to join us in building the next century of service.
