In honor of the United States' 250th anniversary, Gunster shareholder Zach Jacobson has entrusted his remarkable personal collection of Benjamin Franklin artifacts to the Historical Society of Palm Beach County for a landmark exhibition. The collection brings together rare books printed by Franklin himself, period portraits and busts crafted during his lifetime, and generations of later iconography, offering visitors a compelling look at how one man shaped the founding of a nation and how his image, in turn, came to define the American spirit.
The roots of this collection trace back to Zach's childhood. Inspired by their stepfather's treasured holdings of Franklin memorabilia, Zach and his brother Benjamin developed a deep and enduring fascination with one of America's most iconic Founders. What began as a youthful curiosity grew into a lifelong pursuit. The brothers started by carefully acquiring pieces from their stepfather's collection, and over the years, their passion led them cross the country and around the world in search of rare and historically significant items. From handwritten letters penned by Franklin himself to scientific instruments, each piece they uncovered added another chapter to an already rich story of dedication and discovery.
The exhibition stands not only as a tribute to Benjamin Franklin's enduring legacy but also as a testament to the power of personal passion in preserving the history that connects us all. Gunster is proud to celebrate Zach's extraordinary contribution as the nation marks this milestone anniversary.
