Representative Matters
- A new client of the firm and owner of several hotels previously used
three separate law firms to provide counsel regarding corporate, tax,
employment and labor, estate planning and family related matters. After
recognizing many of his issues were interrelated and understanding
the benefits of having a single law firm handle all of his concerns,
he came to Gunster Yoakley. With the advantage of our international
communications, Gunster Yoakley is able to give this client more personalized
and customized service. today, our attorneys oversee and advise this
client on a regular basis.
- Our PWS group distinguishes itself best when its knowledge, experience
and resources are brought to bear in complex situations. Increasingly
in large estates, the family, tax, business and emotional issues are
intertwined and require sound judgment and leadership when negotiating
with all parties. In one recent case, we were able to settle litigation
with the estate's beneficiaries in a way that allowed everyone to reach
individual objectives, and at the same time achieve substantial savings
in estate taxes while significantly reducing litigation costs. The
bottom line - the beneficiaries received distributions earlier than
expected, the estate saved in excess of $20 million and the client
avoided costly litigation.
