WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 12, 2014) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Michael R. Freed has joined the firm as a shareholder in Gunster’s Jacksonville office.
Michael R. Freed joins Gunster’s business litigation practice and will work out of the firm’s Jacksonville office.
Formerly a managing partner of the Jacksonville office of Brennan, Manna & Diamond, Freed has a sophisticated complex business and construction litigation practice, and also serves as outside general counsel for several local and regional companies in a variety of industries, including technology, health care and education.
His practice has grown to the point where the statewide platform and the bench depth that Gunster offers are a perfect fit.

Freed is experienced in litigation, arbitration, administrative proceedings and other forms of dispute resolution. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education programs, and has appeared on Good Morning America, The Today Show, 20/20 and NPR to discuss a variety of legal topics.
He is actively involved in the Jacksonville community, having previously served as president of the Jacksonville Bar Association (2011-12) and Federal Bar Association, Jacksonville chapter (2002-03). He is also involved with the following area organizations: Justice Teaching; Jacksonville Area Legal Aid; The Clara White Mission; Leadership Jacksonville; Florida Partners in Crisis; and Southpoint Community Church.
Freed received his J.D. from Georgetown University in 1993 and is admitted to practice law in Florida, Maryland and D.C.
He and his wife, attorney Crystal Freed, have five children and have lived in Jacksonville since 1995. Both are active in speaking out against child exploitation and human trafficking.
