Leadership Florida is a nonprofit organization that helps enhance the leadership capabilities of Florida’s college leaders, young professionals, and seasoned executives. The organization facilitates the ability for these individuals to work together across political and geographic lines to make Florida an even better place to live and work.  More than 1,500 Floridians have participated in one of the organization’s many programs, including legislators, city and county officials, and business, education, and community leaders from throughout the state.

“Leadership Florida offers unmatched professional networking and growth opportunities for our state’s current and future leaders,” said Lila Jaber.  “Leadership Florida is leadership in Florida and I look forward to helping our members connect with one another and increase their knowledge of different industries as well as key statewide issues important to our citizens and businesses.”

As Chair of Leadership Florida, “Lila Jaber brings a wealth of diverse experience to Leadership Florida’s members,” said Wendy Abberger, President of Leadership Florida. “We couldn’t be more pleased she has accepted this role and will be actively engaged in enriching our programming for Florida leaders, diverse in their age, geography, profession, and political affiliation, but unified in their committed to working for a better Florida.”

As the leader of Gunster’s government affairs practice, Jaber provides strategic advice and counsel on a number of issues including utility-related matters, such as rate case development and negotiations, as well as business to business opportunities. She also advises clients on issues before the Florida Attorney General’s Office, the Florida Legislature, and the Office of the Governor.

“Gunster has an 86-year history in Florida and shares Leadership Florida’s passion for our State,” said Bill Perry, Gunster’s managing partner. “We encourage our lawyers to give back to their communities and fully support Lila’s efforts.  Without a doubt, her extensive private and public sector experience and proven track record of bringing people together will assist Leadership Florida’s progress in developing a statewide community of leaders to focus on Florida’s future.”
