WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 31, 2013) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Josh Long, a certified planner in the firm’s West Palm Beach office, has been appointed chair of the Treasure Coast section of the Florida American Planning Association. His term began in September.
The American Planning Association is focused on advancing and fostering the activity of planning, as well as supporting planning that contributes to the public well-being. The Florida American Planning Association is the state-level resource for planning networking and professional development, which offers its members the opportunity to network, share experience and broaden their perspectives.
Last month, the APA held its annual conference in Orlando. Seminars included “Creating Green Roadways,” in which participants devised creative, sustainable and context-sensitive design solutions to provide green infrastructure and meet community needs within a segment of State Road 50.
Long has been with Gunster for more than eight years and concentrates on land use and growth, planned unit development, community redevelopment areas, local government approvals and permits, urban development, variance, rezoning and special exceptions and transfer development rights. Long is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the Palm Beach County Planning Congress.
