WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (September 9, 2014) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that its director of attorney recruiting and professional development was named to the Florida Bar’s 2014-2015 diversity committee.

Gunster Director of Attorney Recruiting and Professional Development Brad Sprayberry will serve on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Florida Bar Association for the 2014-15 term.

Sprayberry joins five other attorneys from West Palm Beach on the 2014-15 committee: Patricia Fernandez, Rand Hoch, Jean Middleton, Adam Rabin and Debbie Satyal. In total, there are more than 70 members of the committee from across the state.

The committee’s mission is to increase the diversity of members of the Florida Bar to better reflect Florida’s demographics, as well as to develop leadership opportunities for all attorneys, including those who are racially, ethnically and culturally diverse; women; members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community; and persons with disabilities.

Sprayberry practiced law for 15 years before joining Gunster in 2004. He is responsible for managing the hiring of all partners, associates, and law students recruited for the firm’s annual summer associates program. He is also responsible for the firm’s professional development programs, and is the administrative liaison to the firm’s diversity, mentoring, women’s leadership and associate development committees.

He co-authored the disabled attorneys elements of NALP’s Diversity & Inclusion Best Practices Guide (2014) and Lateral Recruiting Best Practices Guide (2007 & 2009). He was elected to serve as NALP’s southeast region law firm representative to the national nominating committee (2007-08), and has served on the NALP leadership development task force and various other work groups.

Sprayberry earned his J.D. from Ohio State University in 1989. He is admitted to practice law in Florida and Ohio.
