WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 14, 2013) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Michael V. Mitrione, a shareholder in its West Palm Beach office, has been elected to the board of directors of the Angel Forum of Florida.
Michael Mitrione co-chairs Gunster’s mergers/acquisitions, securities and corporate governance practice. He previously served on Gunster’s board of directors and as leader of its corporate law practice for 22 years. Mitrione joined the firm in 1979.
The Angel Forum of Florida is a nonprofit organization that promotes local business development by bringing together private investors (“angels”) and Florida entrepreneurs.
At the group’s monthly meetings in Jupiter, investors, entrepreneurs and professionals have the opportunity to network, become informed about “angel investing,” and learn about emerging and growing companies. The group facilitates interactions that are critical for early stage and fast-growing businesses to secure investment capital and management guidance. Since its inception in 2005, Angel Forum has been credited as the channel through which about two companies each year have made connections resulting in early stage equity capital.
Internet, biotech and health care businesses are frequent presenters, although businesses from a broad spectrum of industries make presentations and participate as Angel Forum members.
