For the third consecutive year, Gunster, Florida’s law firm for business, was recognized by Florida Trend as one of Florida’s Best Companies to Work For in 2011.  Gunster was the only law firm ranked in the Large Companies category.

Gunster is consistently chosen by business publications like Florida Trend as one of the state’s Best Companies to Work For. Earlier this year, the firm was also recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of the top ten Best Places to Work in 2011. Contributing to Gunster’s competitive edge are its low turnover rate, competitive employee compensation and benefits and a collegial work environment.  In 2010, Gunster maintained a low turnover rate (5.9%) compared to the industry average (20.5%) in 2009, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“Gunster is honored to again be recognized as one of the best places to work by Florida Trend.  For more than 85 years, the key to Gunster’s success has been our people.  A great group of lawyers, paralegals and staff, working together to provide the finest legal representation to our high quality clients makes Gunster a great place to build a career,” said Senator George S. LeMieux, Chairman of Gunster.

“Our employees are our best resources.  By recruiting and retaining the best people, Gunster stands out as one of the best large law firms to work for,” said H. William Perry, Managing Partner of Gunster.  “Not only are we Florida’s law firm for business, but we have distinguished ourselves as Florida’s law firm for law professionals.”

The Best Companies to Work For program was created by Florida Trend and Best Companies Group and is endorsed by the HR Florida State Council.  Florida Trend selects companies for its list by partnering with the Best Companies Group, which surveys the firms that choose to participate.  Companies with 15 or more employees in Florida go through a two-step in depth survey process, which focuses on eight themes: leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor, training and development; pay and benefits and overall engagement.
