WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 4, 2014) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that two of its attorneys were recently selected for honors by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the primary economic development organization for Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County.

Heidi Davis Knapik, a shareholder with Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale office, has been appointed chair of GFLA’s Leadership Council for 2014-15.

Knapik has more than 20 years’ experience addressing complex land use, zoning and development issues that arise under local, regional and state laws. She counsels landowners with entitlements and development of land, due diligence reviews, and in proceedings before hearing examiners, planning commissions and city and county decision-makers.

Robert C. White Jr., a shareholder with Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale office, was awarded the “Economic Development Leadership Award” at a ceremony on October 23, for his role on the GFLA’s Entrepreneurship Council.

White co-chairs Gunster’s technology and emerging companies practice. He regularly advises business entities, entrepreneurs and executives in matters involving business and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, business and strategic planning, corporate growth strategies, business contracts, corporate finance, venture capital and angel financing, technology law, securities law and corporate governance.
