Transit Oriented Developments
Transit Oriented Developments (TOD) are compact mixed use developments that support walkability and the use of mass transit. Florida has developed in a way that provides unique challenges to the creation of TODs. The Florida Legislature, Department of Community Affairs, Regional Planning Councils, and various counties and municipalities are looking to create opportunities and regulations that encourage and support TODs. Gunster’s attorneys have worked with state and local governmental agencies to help create walkable communities and to craft legislation and regulations that will provide incentives and support for TODs. Gunster’s attorneys are available to assist our clients with the creation of TODs that limit traffic impacts, provide for a quality development, and encourage the kinds of transit opportunities that Florida is looking to accomplish.
