Development Financing

In addition to standard real estate financing options, Gunster’s attorneys can help with the creation of Community Development Districts, Independent Special Districts, and obtaining Tax Increment Financing.  The use of these financing options can help fund the construction and maintenance of development infrastructure.  For example, they allow the developer to generate funds to pay for infrastructure such as roads and water and wastewater treatment through the sale of tax exempt bonds.  These utilize these options, the developer must work with various state and local governments, whether the municipality or county in which the property sits, the Florida legislature, or the Governor and Cabinet.  Gunster’s attorneys have counseled clients on these options and assisted them in receiving the necessary approvals for clients to utilize them.
