Gunster continues to grow, establishes 10th office in the Florida Keys

Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest commercial law firms, has expanded its statewide footprint yet again.

The firm’s newest office opened in Key Largo, in the Ocean Reef Club, on August 1.

Attorney Timothy Thomes will anchor this office and focus on business litigation, estate planning and real estate law. Premier Title Company, an affiliate of Gunster, also has a presence in this new office.

“This latest expansion to the Florida Keys will further solidify Gunster’s well-deserved reputation as Florida’s law firm for business,” said H. William Perry, Gunster’s managing shareholder. “With 10 offices across the state, our clientele has access to our full spectrum of services in nearly every market in Florida.”

Gunster has grown over the past three years – in contrast to downsizing that has taken place elsewhere in the legal services market.

In 2011, Gunster established an office in Tampa, and significantly expanded its presence in Jacksonville. Also in 2011, the firm expanded its Miami practice with the addition of six attorneys who contribute to the firm’s international business litigation, real estate, and environmental and land use practice areas.

Timothy Thomes has extensive experience in business litigation as well as commercial and residential real estate transactions and trust and estate planning.

He is a Florida Certified Arbitrator and member of the American Arbitration Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (in both the U.S. and the U.K.). He is a past president of the Florida Keys Bar Association.

Thomes received his B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University, his J.D. from the College of William and Mary and performed postdoctoral work in tax and estate planning at the University of Miami.
