GUNSTER YOAKLEY NAMES ANDRES A. FERNANDEZ NEW SHAREHOLDER

Miami, Fla. — May 23 , 2008 — Florida International Bankers Association, today announced that FIBA Member, Andy Fernandez, a lawyer at Gunster Yoakley, was invited on behalf of the Bankers Association of Guatemala to speak at CLADIT 2008 – 5th Congress on Anti Money Laundering and Anti Terrorism.

This one-day conference, was held on May 16, 2008 in the city of Guatemala   and was attended by over 200 participants including bankers, consultants and local regulators representing the region including countries from Central America and the Caribbean.  

Mr. Fernandez’s presentation discussed recent sanctions against U.S. financial institutions for violations of BSA/AML/OFAC laws and its implication on international private banking. Mr. Fernandez has developed substantial expertise in counseling international and domestic banking clients in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, programs and systems to prevent, detect and react to the movement of illicit capital vis a vis U.S. laws and regulations.
