This one-day conference, was held on May 16, 2008 in the city of Guatemala and was attended by over 200 participants including bankers, consultants and local regulators representing the region including countries from Central America and the Caribbean. Mr. Fernandez’s presentation discussed recent sanctions against U.S. financial institutions for violations of BSA/AML/OFAC laws and its implication on international private banking.
