GUNSTER YOAKLEY NAMES ANDRES A. FERNANDEZ NEW SHAREHOLDER

Miami, Fla. — April 9, 2008 — Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.A. has admitted Andres A. Fernandez as a shareholder of the firm.   He is a member of the Corporate Department, Banking and Financial Services Group, and practices in the firm’s Miami office.  Fernandez focuses his practice in banking, commercial and international law. He has vast expertise in the Banking Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Office of Foreign Assets Control compliance-related matters.

Fernandez, who earned a juris doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, actively participates as a member of the Cuban-American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association and the Florida International Bankers Association. He played a part in founding the Mike Lowell Foundation, a charitable organization named after the Boston Red Sox baseball player who fought and survived cancer. Fernandez also serves as the organization’s general counsel.
