STUART, Fla. (February 27, 2008) — To help local women prepare for the professional workforce, the law firm of Gunster Yoakley recently donated nearly 200 suits, pants, blouses, dresses, skirts and accessories including shoes, purses and jewelry to the Gold Coast organization of Business and Professional Women (BPW) annual Suit Drive. The Florida-based law firm has donated more than 1,000 items since it started participating in the annual clothing drive five years ago. This is the 15th Annual Suit Drive organized by BPW/Gold Coast.
“It’s wonderful knowing that so many professional outfits can be utilized by local women to help them present themselves in the best possible light,” said Bev Young, office manager of the Stuart office of Gunster Yoakley who coordinates the clothing drive. “Presentation is a critical component to success in the professional workplace so it’s extremely rewarding to see the firm unite behind such a worthwhile cause each year.”
BPW is a national, non-profit, member-supported organization dedicated to improving the professional, personal, economic and educational outlook of women. All clothing donated to BPW is organized at a “sorting party” and then donated to selected organizations in the community, which distributes it to deserving local women.
