The Tampa Bay Business Journal held its awards luncheon last week to honor its Healthiest Employers 2014 honorees. On Thursday, April 3, representatives of the 43 finalist firms gathered at the ala carte event pavilion on Dana Shores Drive in Tampa to find out which companies won in each size category.
Gunster was ranked No. 1 in the 2-40 employees category. (The firm’s Tampa office has 10 attorneys as of April 7, 2014, with the most recent addition of litigator Kenneth G.M. Mather.)
Other top-ranked winners announced Thursday were:
- Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners (41-150 employees)
- United Healthcare (151-499 employees)
- Quest Diagnostics (500-1,499 employees)
The Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers awards are designed to recognize local businesses making a difference in employee health.
As profiled in the Business Journal, Gunster’s wellness program participation rates are indeed noteworthy: 50 percent of the firm’s statewide employees (approximately 200 people) participate in the firm’s year-long walking program; 75 percent participate in its free, annual health fairs; and 25 percent take part in its weekly “deskercise” email program.
