Lila A. JaberLila Jaber, an attorney in Gunster’s Tallahassee office and former chair of the Public Service Commission, writes of Florida’s regulatory approach toward privately held utilities in a guest column to the Orlando Sentinel, published on March 28.

She writes, in part:

“Tracing its roots to 1887, Florida’s PSC has been recognized as one of the most advanced and effective utility regulators in America. Many of the regulatory practices advanced by Florida are considered effective best practices nationally; these are regulatory practices that protect the consumer and retain a company’s ability to make necessary system improvements to better serve that customer.”
