Two recent award events honor leading Palm Beach County businesses and individuals for their commitment and contributions to local communities.
This morning, the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches held its 2014 Business Awards breakfast at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The annual business awards recognize companies in Palm Beach County with a solid commitment to business goals, employees and local communities.
The following received top honors at the breakfast awards today:
Small Business Person of the Year: Gary S. Lesser, managing partner of Lesser Lesser Landy & Smith law firm
Business of the Year: Hedrick Brothers Construction Co.
Nonprofit of the Year (Arts & Culture): South Florida Science Center & Aquarium
Nonprofit of the Year (Health & Human Services): Children’s Health Care Charity
Health/Science Professional of the Year: John D. Coulris, president and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center
Diversity Award: Florida Power & Light
On Thursday evening, May 29, the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce held its 2014 Leadership Awards Dinner at the PGA National Resort & Spa. The annual awards honor outstanding businesses and individuals for all that they do for the area.
Honored at the 2014 leadership awards event:
Business of the Year: Lockheed Martin Corporation
Community Leader of the Year: Patrick Rooney Jr., a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 85th District (which includes northern Palm Beach County) since 2012
Small Business of the Year: Loggerhead Fitness
Nonprofit of the Year: Place of Hope
Young Professional of the Year: Jennifer Sardone-Shiner, director of marketing at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.
Gaeta Chairman’s Award of Excellence: Michele Jacobs, corporate director of marketing and operations for the Forbes Company, which owns The Gardens Mall
