U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will join Mayor Alvin Brown to make a major announcement for veterans and military families at an event in Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday, November 9 at 10:00 a.m.
The announcement, which amplifies the Obama Administration’s Joining Forces program led by First Lady Michele Obama and Dr. Jill Biden, is part of the Veterans Transportation and Community Living Initiative, an effort to enhance access to local, affordable transportation services for military families and spouses, wounded warriors, and other people with disabilities.
