This year’s Tampa Bay Global Trade and Transportation Symposium is scheduled for Thursday morning, October 30, at Port Tampa Bay.

Florida ports stand to benefit from an increased flow of cargo, business and international trade with the planned 2015 expansion of the Panama Canal. Prominent business and state leaders will gather to discuss this and other economic and growth issues.

George S. LeMieux, chairman of the board at Gunster, and former U.S. Senator, is keynote speaker and will discuss increasing the prosperity of Florida through international trade.

The mayor of Tampa will present opening remarks, and Doug Davidson of Bank of America Merrill Lynch will talk about how Florida is made for trade.

Two panels are included:

  • Guiding Florida forward through executive leadership
  • Winning in the marketplace with trade & logistics: private sector leaders

The symposium is presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, The Tampa Bay Business Journal and the Port of Tampa Bay.

There is a cost to attend.
