Curtis Alva is an of counsel member of the firm’s Litigation Department. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Mr. Alva practiced Litigation at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP in Wilmington, Delaware from 1988 through 1998 and at Shutts & Bowen LLP from 1998 through 2003.

million sale from Rank Group, plc, to Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment.
Assisted in defense of Great Western Financial Corporation against $6.5
billion hostile takeover attempt by H.F. Ahmanson & Company.
Defended appeal of contested $4 billion restructuring of the property and
casualty divisions of CIGNA.
Lead trial counsel in a multimillion RICO jury trial among international
telephone companies.
Assisted in hostile takeover of American Bankers Insurance Group by Cendant
Corporation.
Lead trial counsel in an action to enforce an exclusive provider agreement at
Baptist Hospital.
