Representative Matters[ - ]

• Counsel for the Republic of Chile in civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) actions against U.S. banks based on former President Augusto Pinochet’s theft of Chilean government funds
• Secured judgments totaling $17 million on behalf of two investment holding companies in a breach of contract action involving loans totaling more than $68 million
• Successfully defended a large real estate developer against claims involving breach of contract, fraud and unjust enrichment, with respect to the purchase and sale of a $14 million piece of commercial real estate
• Successfully represented an I.T. Consulting, Solutions and Managed Support Services company in an action against a former employee for breach of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements
• Acted as legal counsel for the Receiver in a multi-million dollar securities laws, violations case involving the SEC and a national company selling oil and gas partnerships, and recovered sums in excess of $4 million for the benefit of defrauded investors
• Defended a large industrial supplier and wholesaler of materials for the petrochemical and process engineering industries, from premises liability claims by an international insurance underwriter, and successfully brought the case to settlement
• Successfully represented a former employee of a publicly traded company in breach of contract action against former employer for the recovery of past due compensation and severance package
• Successfully defended a limited liability company against an action by an alleged member of the same, and involving fraudulent inducement, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment claims in connection with purchase of a residential waterfront building
