- One of the Southeast’s largest and best-known home builders was expanding its business to include a substantial web-based business platform. Gunster Yoakley’s Technology Attorneys assisted the builder in negotiating its Website Development and Hosting Agreements and in acquiring the necessary technical hardware and software.
- Our Employment Law Practice Group obtained summary judgment and $250,000 in attorneys’ fees against an employee in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in a complex $7 million suit involving age discrimination, the Florida Whistleblower Protection Act and federal and state wire-tapping laws.
- The Financial Services Group at Gunster Yoakley designed and implemented Lee Munder Capital Group’s complex organizational structure for maximum tax efficiency. The structure developed provides mechanisms for equity participation in the long-term growth of the business for initial and future employees.
- Members of our Urban Development Practice Group have helped with revitalization efforts in Miami’s South Beach area, assisted with renovation efforts to transform downtown Fort Lauderdale and its beaches and represented a range of private and public parties in obtaining historic rehabilitation tax benefits and preservation revitalization grants. They have also spearheaded Miami-Dade County’s efforts to create one of the most sophisticated and far-reaching Brownfields Redevelopment Programs in Florida through the establishment of grants, low interest revolving loans and other financial incentives.
- After five years of appeals and a three month jury trial, Gunster Yoakley Litigation Attorneys obtained an eight-figure recovery on behalf of a former orthopedic surgeon, medical professor and pioneer in the development of artificial hip replacement systems, when the court found that a large medical manufacturer had misappropriated one of his designs.
